Engineering education for the machinery and equipment manufacturing industry

Einleitung Fokus-Thema Made Ing Germany

Digitization is the buzzword of today. Innovation has been a hot topic for a long time, and Industrie 4.0 is accepted as a standard. In order to breathe life into these concepts, clever minds and adequate training concepts are needed.

In mechanical and plant engineering, engineers are in high demand to develop, improve and innovate. Together with skilled workers, they are crucial for Germany's innovative strength and global competitiveness.

This is why the mechanical engineering sector, as the most important employer for engineers, takes its responsibility, and consistently continues to train young talents.

Mechanical engineering companies are not only active in vocational training, but also as partners in cooperative study programs. Dual degree study programs are a unique format, and many other countries envy Germany for them.

However, Germany should not get too comfortable - in order to keep up with and live up to its leading position, education must be further developed to meet the challenges of the future. This includes ensuring that the digital shift is also reflected in engineering education. Curricula and teaching methods must be further developed for Industrie 4.0, and practical relevance must be further strengthened. After all, education is not only a privilege, but also a challenge
