"Either PFAS regulation or energy transition" - this is the clear denominator of the consequences of the planned comprehensive EU ban on around 10,000 PFAS substances. Because for many industrial processes related to climate protection there are no alternatives for PFAS - whether it's the manufacturing of photovoltaic systems or seals, which are used in wind turbines as well as in almost all other machines. VDMA expert Dr. Sarah Brückner explains why regulation must therefore make an urgent distinction between hazardous and non-hazardous PFAS substances.
