Bertram Kawlath: The machinery industry expects swift action
The German federal election campaign has begun - and the machinery and equipment manufacturing industry's demand is clear: “Any future government should act quickly to improve conditions for industry,” emphasized VDMA President Bertram Kawlath at the association's 2024 annual press conference. That means: "Less bureaucracy, less regulation, faster approval times and a tolerable tax level." The VDMA also sees the EU as having the same obligation. Here, too, the motto is: Don't just talk, but let actions follow: "Deregulation, debureaucratization, fewer reporting requirements and the opening of markets outside of the EU."
