For the agricultural machinery manufacturer CLAAS, a global and efficient spare parts management system that provides the parts at the right time, in the right quantity, and at the right place is one of the important assets. After all, if a harvesting machine breaks down for several days, it can be very expensive.

At CLAAS, Claas Service and Parts GmbH in Hamm handles the central distribution of spare parts. A modernization increased the capacities and the throughput could be doubled. Digital spare parts management, i.e. the digitalization of procurement, storage and provision of spare parts, has massively accelerated maintenance processes. How does the management of digitized processes work? How is the service business currently developing in relation to topics such as apps or the platform economy? These are the questions that will be addressed in the exchange of experiences.

We will address the opportunities and risks in the spare parts business and get a guided tour of the spare parts warehouse. An introductory contribution provides information on the industry benchmarks. What conclusions can be drawn from the new VDMA service indicators? At a subsequent get-together, there will be an opportunity to exchange views on current and future service trends.
