This episode of the Connect2Discover series is primarily aimed at plant manufacturers and companies with project business: core elements of the successful export of an industrial plant are also the appropriate financing and insurance for the project. Learn more about the crucial aspects of export financing and export credit insurance and find out how the VDMA supports you with information about these and other topics relevant to plant engineering.


We start with a definition of the term plant engineering and explain the key competences that companies should have for the execution of complex plant construction projects.

This will be followed by a discussion of state export credit insurance as a basis for export financing in plant engineering. Who uses the possibilities, what is behind the climate criteria introduced in 2023, what still needs to be considered (comparison with payment terms).

Finally, you will gain an insight into various services for plant manufacturers and companies with project business, which are provided by the Working Group for Large-scale Plant Engineering and other divisions of the VDMA.
