Connect2Discover@VDMA kicks off the year with a brief look at the topic of cybersecurity and industrial security for mechanical and plant engineering, and highlights current assistance and support options.

The topic of cybersecurity in the industrial environment - industrial security - is one of the most important current issues. For example, cyber attacks have been a major threat to our members for some time now. More than 60 VDMA member companies have been affected by ransomware in recent years, and production has sometimes been at a standstill for up to 8 weeks. More than two thirds of the members have already experienced cyber attacks. In addition, the regulatory requirements from the IT Security Act 2.0, the NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act are placing tough demands on our industry. With a view to adequate protection of supply chains and safeguarding the manufacture of critical products, industrial security is a core issue for product development, management and IT departments alike.
The VDMA took up the topic at an early stage, and with the Competence Center Industrial Security there has already been a central point of contact in the VDMA since 2016.
The event will provide a brief insight into the situation for mechanical and plant engineering. Our speakers and experts from the VDMA will show current assistance and support options as well as opportunities for active networking and exchange of experience.

The target group for this event-series are all "newcomers" to VDMA and all those who would like to get to know the range of services better - members or those who are interested in a membership. Every third event is in English, for the others we offer simultaneous translation.
